The Goal is to Make Heaven
**The Goal is to Make Heaven**
As Christians, our ultimate goal is to make heaven, living our lives in a way that pleases God and encourages others to do the same. However, it is disheartening to see that, in contrast to the early Christian practices, some believers today are more focused on bringing each other down rather than uplifting one another.
The early church provides a powerful example of unity and mutual support. Acts 2:44-47 describes how “all the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.”
In stark contrast, Paul warns against divisive behavior in Galatians 5:15: “If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.” This destructive behavior undermines our collective goal of making heaven and living out Christ’s love.
Jesus teaches us to love one another and support each other on our spiritual journeys. In John 13:34-35, He commands, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” This love is essential for us to remain united and focused on our heavenly goal.
**Call to Action:**
Reflect on how you can foster unity and love within your Christian community. Commit to building each other up rather than tearing each other down. Encourage your fellow believers, support them in their spiritual growth, and focus on our shared goal of making heaven.
**Prayer Point:**
Heavenly Father, we ask for Your guidance to live in unity and love as the early Christians did. Help us to resist the urge to bring each other down and instead, encourage and uplift one another. May our actions reflect Your love and keep us focused on our goal of making heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
