Saying No To Sin


In our journey through life, we encounter countless decisions, some of which test our resolve to stay true to our values and beliefs. **Galatians 5:16-17** offers practical advice: “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.” Here, we are called to live by the Spirit, acknowledging the internal battle between our higher aspirations and baser instincts.

Saying no to sin is not just about avoiding negative actions; it’s about actively pursuing a life that honors God and reflects His love and grace. **Philippians 4:8** guides us in this pursuit: “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” By focusing our thoughts and actions on what is virtuous and praiseworthy, we align ourselves with God’s will and contribute to a more just and compassionate world.
