Do You Have a Relationship with God?

Having a relationship with God is the foundation of the Christian faith. It’s more than just attending church or following religious traditions. A relationship with God means knowing Him personally, trusting Him with your life, and communicating with Him daily. The Bible says in James 4:8, “Come near to God and He will come near to you.” This scripture highlights that when we seek God, He is always ready to embrace us.

In John 15:5, Jesus said, β€œI am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” This shows how essential it is to stay connected to God. When you have a relationship with Him, He gives you the strength, wisdom, and peace to overcome life’s challenges.

The relationship God desires with us is like a parent and child. He wants to guide, protect, and provide for us. But this relationship must be cultivated. Just as we spend time with loved ones, we need to spend time with God in prayer, reading His Word, and seeking His will.

The greatest demonstration of God’s desire for a relationship with us was sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. Through Christ, we are reconciled with God, and we have the privilege of calling Him Father (Romans 8:15). Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, β€œI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

So, the question is: Do you have a relationship with God? If not, it’s never too late to start one. He is always waiting for you with open arms.

Call to Action:

If you don’t have a personal relationship with God yet, now is the time to seek Him. He wants to be a part of your life. Spend time in prayer, read His Word, and ask Him to reveal Himself to you in new ways. The door to a relationship with God is always openβ€”will you walk through it?

Prayer Point:

Lord, I desire a closer relationship with You. Teach me how to draw near to You and to trust You in every aspect of my life. Help me to remain in You, knowing that apart from You, I can do nothing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
