Bigger Than All Your Challenges
The Unfailing Promise of God’s Word
The Bible is not just a book of stories; it’s a testament to God’s unfailing word, His timing, and His promises that are always bigger than our challenges. One of the most profound examples of this is the prophecy of Jesus’ coming. Approximately 700 years before Christ was born, the prophet Isaiah spoke of His birth, saying, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). This prophecy, like many others, showcases the incredible patience required in waiting on God’s promises and the monumental fulfillment that follows.
The Bible, though rich in events and narratives, doesn’t always provide detailed records of time. This compression of events serves as a reminder that God’s timing is not our own. He operates beyond the confines of our human understanding and timelines. The waiting period, though challenging, is a test of our faith and patience, cultivating in us a deeper trust in God’s sovereignty.
Consider Abraham, who was promised numerous descendants at an age when such a promise seemed impossible. Yet, despite the waiting and the challenges, God fulfilled His promise to Abraham in a way that was far beyond his expectations (Genesis 21:1-7). Similarly, Joseph’s dreams, which seemed to be dashed when he was sold into slavery, were fulfilled in an extraordinary manner that only God could orchestrate (Genesis 41:39-43).
