Believe in His Words and His Prophets
**Introduction:**
Believing in the Word of God and the words of His prophets is essential for every believer. It is through faith in God’s promises that we experience His blessings, protection, and guidance. The Bible reminds us of the importance of this belief in 2 Chronicles 20:20: “Jehoshaphat stood and said, ‘Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.'”
**The Power of Believing in God’s Word:**
Throughout the Bible, we see how belief in God’s Word brings about transformation, deliverance, and prosperity. In 2 Chronicles 20, when King Jehoshaphat faced a vast army, he sought the Lord, and God’s word came through His prophet, instructing them not to be afraid or discouraged. Instead, they were to stand firm and see the deliverance of the Lord. The people believed, and as they began to worship and praise, God set ambushes against their enemies, and victory was secured.
James 1:6 also emphasizes the importance of believing without doubt: “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” Faith in God’s Word is crucial; without it, we cannot expect to receive anything from the Lord. Doubt hinders our ability to receive, but unwavering faith releases God’s promises into our lives.
**The Role of Prophets:**
Prophets are God’s messengers, sent to deliver His Word to His people. Throughout Scripture, we see how God used prophets to guide, warn, and encourage His people. When we believe the words of true prophets, we align ourselves with God’s will and position ourselves to receive His blessings.
For instance, in 1 Kings 17, during a severe drought, the prophet Elijah was sent to a widow in Zarephath. He asked her to use her last bit of flour and oil to make him bread, promising that the jar of flour and jug of oil would not run dry until the Lord sent rain. The widow believed the prophet’s words, and God provided for her and her household throughout the famine.
**Call to Action:**
As believers, we must hold fast to God’s Word and the words of His prophets. When we do, we are established, and we prosper. Take time to meditate on God’s promises, trust in His Word, and believe in the words of His true prophets. Let your faith be unwavering, knowing that God is faithful to fulfill His Word.
**Prayer Point:**
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that brings life, guidance, and victory. Help us to believe in Your Word and in the words of Your prophets without doubt. Strengthen our faith, Lord, and establish us in Your truth so that we may prosper in all we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
