FAITH IS NOT WISHFUL THINKING

 Faith is Not Wishful Thinking

Faith is not simply hoping for the best or wishing for good things to happen. Faith is based on trust in God’s promises and His perfect timing. In 1 Timothy 6:15, the Bible says, *“which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords.”* This shows that faith rests in God’s sovereignty and His ability to fulfill His word when the time is right.

Faith is more than a feeling; it is a confident belief in God’s power and plan, even when circumstances seem uncertain. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as *“the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”* Faith goes beyond the visible and the immediate. It holds onto the unseen truths and the sure promises of God.

Throughout the Bible, we see examples of faith in action. Abraham believed God for a son, even when it seemed impossible (Genesis 15:6). The woman with the issue of blood reached out to Jesus in faith, and she was healed (Luke 8:43-48). These stories show us that faith isn’t wishful thinking—it’s trusting that God is faithful to do what He has promised.

We are encouraged to fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12). Faith isn’t passive; it requires endurance and persistence. It’s believing in God’s perfect will and trusting His timing. Even when we don’t understand how or when God will move, we can rest assured that He will always come through at the right time.

Call to Action:

Strengthen your faith by digging deeper into God’s Word and standing on His promises. Remember that faith isn’t about hoping for the best outcome; it’s about trusting that God’s plan is better than anything we could wish for. Trust Him to act in His perfect timing.

Prayer Point:

Heavenly Father, help me to grow in faith, trusting in Your timing and Your promises. Let my faith be firm, not based on wishful thinking, but on the assurance of who You are and what You have spoken. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
