**Who You Associate With Matters**

Our relationships and associations play a significant role in shaping our character, decisions, and destiny. The Bible is replete with wisdom regarding the importance of choosing our companions wisely. Proverbs 13:20 succinctly puts it: “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”

The people we surround ourselves with have a profound impact on our lives. Their values, behaviors, and beliefs can influence our own, either drawing us closer to God or leading us astray. In 1 Corinthians 15:33, Paul warns, “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.'” This verse highlights the potential danger of associating with those who do not share our commitment to living a righteous life.

Similarly, Psalm 1:1-3 contrasts the blessings of those who avoid the counsel of the wicked with the prosperity of those who delight in the law of the Lord. It reads: “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

Choosing godly friends and mentors is crucial for spiritual growth and stability. Surrounding ourselves with individuals who encourage, support, and challenge us to grow in our faith can make all the difference. These relationships can provide accountability, wisdom, and encouragement, helping us to stay on the path of righteousness.

**Call to Action:**

Reflect on your current associations and friendships. Are they leading you closer to God or pulling you away from Him? Seek out relationships that will encourage your spiritual growth and challenge you to live a life that honors God. Be intentional about surrounding yourself with godly influences.

Let us all strive to build and maintain relationships that will strengthen our faith and draw us closer to God. Share this message and encourage others to choose their associations wisely, for who you associate with truly matters.

**Prayer Point:**

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of relationships. Help us to choose our companions wisely and to seek out friendships that will encourage us in our walk with You. Give us discernment to avoid relationships that lead us astray and the courage to nurture those that draw us closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
